"And He asked them, "But who do you say that I am? Peter answered Him, "You are the Christ."
If you will be asked the same question, what is the first thing that will cross your mind? How will you answer this question in front of Jesus?
In our daily situations, we tend to throw questions and it turns out that we find more questions in life. To name a few are questions about self-identity, decisions in life, and relationships. More often than not, it creates a tension on us on how to answer these questions on our own.
During this time when Jesus asked Peter, people have different views of who Jesus is. Some says He is one of the prophets, and some even say He is the real John the Baptist. Peter had a different response when Jesus asked him. He had a revelation of who Jesus is. He is certain. He is sure. He is the Christ. The long awaited Messiah that will save them from their sins. It was a revealed to Him by God through His experience of being with Jesus. Not on the circumstance that he is facing. Not on his identity. Not on the people around Him, but in Jesus Christ alone.
Circumstances in our lives will cause us to question life, but the thing is not just to answer these questions but to answer the question of “Who is God in our situation?” Is He a God who is a provider when we are in need for provision? A healer when we are sick? A Peacemaker when we need to be reconciled? A Savior when we need to be rescued?
Who is Jesus in your situation today? He wants to have a personal encounter of who He is today in your life.
