One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
Today's Reading: Psalm 27:4-6
To behold the beauty of the Lord was King David’s everlasting request. The Psalm’s reflect his love affair with God. This intimate relationship is a joy to witness—especially how he drew closer to God after his period of disobedience. The greatest obstacle to seeking the Lord is pride. “In the pride of his face, the wicked does not seek him” (Psalm 10:4). Humility is essential in seeking the Lord. At times my pride has been an obstacle in seeking the face of the Lord. But as each day is a new beginning, we have another opportunity to run into the arms of Jesus and bask in his love and mercy. That is where I feel the safest. That is where I want to be!
