Daniel escaped the lion's den through God's grace and mercy. Daniel enjoyed a disciplined prayer life and in critical crisis moments offered up quick prayers to God: "O God, help me. I am being asked something here that I don't have an answer for." And where did that come from? Well, Daniel 6:11 says, "When Daniel knew that the document"—namely, that nobody can pray except to the King— "had been signed, he went to his house, got down on his knees in prayer to give thanks to God three times a day.
While in the lion's den, we can be assured that Daniel was spontaneously praying to the Lord. His response to King Darius was, "My God has sent his angel and closed the lions' mouths so that they have not hurt me. King Darius released Daniel from the lion's den and wrote a decree to the nations and peoples of every language, "I decree that throughout my royal domain the God of Daniel is to be reverenced and feared.
Growing the divine exchange moment by moment keeps us in constant prayer with God.
