MARCH 27, 2018
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
Jesus gave us Holy Communion- the Eucharist- his body and blood on the night he was betrayed. Before he broke the bread and gave it to his disciples, he honored his Father by giving him thanks for this gift. Jesus always held his Father in a place of honor. Celebrating the Eucharist we honor and give Jesus thanks and praise for his death and resurrection so that we may enjoy eternal life. This gift was giving freely out of Jesus’s unconditional love for us. Each day is a new beginning to nurture the divine exchange between ourselves and Jesus Christ. Live each day Sacred. Enjoy peace in the presence of Jesus Christ.
In worship, as we practice the Lord's supper, may we express the value of Christ by remembering and boldly declaring what Jesus did on the cross for us.
