Praise God for Another Day!

April 23, 2018 Daily Devotion

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

Read: Psalm 139

This verse reminds me of the importance of giving thanks and praise to God for all things. It begins and ends with a deep love and appreciation for the magnificence of God. First thing, in the morning, a good habit would be to thank God for another day and the courage to do his will. This alone sets the tone for our day and keeps us spiritually strong and vibrant-reminding us that we are wonderfully made in God’s image. I believe this opens the door and encourages us to engage the Holy Spirit throughout the day.
This is a spiritual discipline that we can grow day by day. It reminds me of my pursuit of learning Spanish and my kind instructors and friends reminding me, “poco a poco” –little by little. Or as my wise mother would say, “Inch by inch life is a cinch, yard by yard life is hard.” As we keep our focus on our love for God, he will provide the catalyst for you to love and serve those around you. As we continue to offer God thanks and praise throughout our day he will provide us opportunities to share, show and be love.
We learn to stay in the present moment each day with God. We grow in his love and find inner peace.

So look for those opportunities to perform random acts of kindness. A smile, a hug, a kind word are all free and can change the course of a person’s day (both the giver and the receiver) and the course of the world! So as Jesus told his disciples, “This is my commandment: Love one another as I have loved you” (John15:12).
Choose Love!

We are all wonderfully made by God. As His creation, we are called to praise His name.
