We are very familiar with the scripture "do to others what you would have them do to you.” Sometimes our familiarity weakens the sincere passion and hunger to apply this in our everyday life. It’s easy to do good to those we know, but to those we do not know, it seems as we find it easier to build fences around us not display consideration at all.
We love because God first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother (1 John 4:19-21). We are called to love others with no conditions. We love with no strings attached. No “if,” no “when.” It means we love even those who caused us pain. We love even those who are unlovable. We love even those people who are not considerate.
What are the motivations of your heart? Practice showing consideration to others today.
