Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

John 17:3

Read: John 17

It is easy to dream of having our own successful business one day. However, venturing into a business is not as easy as we wish it could be. While putting up the business plan, we want to be as optimistic as possible even though we know there are risks we are taking. Wanting to be successful, I believe, needs the guts to take the steps to accomplish the main goal—even though it means going out of our safe zone.

Written in John chapter 17 is Jesus' final prayer. A prayer that is very selfless and affirmative. Jesus spoke more than forty times the fact that He was sent by God. He has been very bold of the mission that was given to Him, that is to be the sacrifice for us to receive salvation.

Jesus already knew the risks He is taking when He started to let the people know who He is. That He is sent by God and that He is the son of God. Jesus knew that He will not be accepted by the many. He knew the pain and the suffering He will go through. Yet Jesus, in humility and obedience, still received the cup and accepted the will of God to be done (Luke 22:42), all for the Glory of God's Kingdom.

Do you know that we are all part of a family business? And this is the business of God. The business of letting the people know who Jesus is and what He did for us. We are in the business of advancing the Kingdom of God by sharing the Gospel, whatever it takes.

May we take time to ask God, "Lord, what is my mission today? What do want me to do today to help our family business?"
