How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
Read: Psalm 119:1-16
My thoughts control my words, actions, beliefs, values, and destiny. Before the disciple, Saul’s conversion on the road to Damascus his thoughts were evil and of persecution. What changed? Well, the “blinding light” from heaven. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,” Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” He asked, “Who are you, Lord?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting” (Acts 9:3-5).
We are all capable of conversions, sometimes sudden, more often after long trials and growth, and we all need these experiences to grow closer to God and to our neighbors. Once we realize that our lives go much better when we listen to the voice of God, we are more open to the Holy Spirit. “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you” (James 4:8). It really boils down to choice. Do I choose to be loving, forgiving, kind, caring and compassionate?
Be kind to yourself. Each day is a new beginning. Live each day SACRED. Nurture the divine exchange between you and God. At the end of each day, it is between you and God. Enjoy the minute to minute “exchange” with God as he does have a sense of humor. Practice Smile, Breathe, Love to grow closer to God and neighbors’:
Smile: Diffuses tension and we are more open to change.
“Jesus I need you.”
Breathe: Slow deep breaths to invite the Holy Spirit to control our thoughts, words, actions.
“Jesus I trust you.”
Love: Wrap the situation, person(s) in the white light of Love.
“Jesus I love you.”
Once we realize that our lives go much better when we listen to the voice of God, we are more open to the Holy Spirit.
Unite all in love for God is love!
