Little Children

April 13, 2018 Daily Devotion

Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a reward from him.

Today's Reading: Psalm 127:3-5

In fact, God's Word says, "Bear children." "Be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28) is God's powerful Word of blessing and is the command to bring forth children. (v.4) As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Reared to become straight arrows, they are shot out into the battle of faith, fit to do war with the enemy. Pray for this kind of children, who also sit and "speak with the enemies in the gate," giving an account of their faith and the glory of their God.
Verse 5 continues Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. As parents, it is our biblical responsibility to train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6).
Fathers are called to direct their households. Parents are to reflect God’s love, set a good example through kindness and humility and provide encouragement and discipline.
It is then and through God’s love and mercy that our children will be “reared to become straight arrows” for the Glory of God.

A proud Grandfather Story:
I asked my 4-year-old granddaughter recently for a hug. She said, “No.” I then asked her for a kiss. She again said, “No.” I thought what do I have to lose, so I asked for a hug and a kiss. With a big smile and outreached arms, she said, “Yeaaaah.”

Dios amo los ninos! (God loves the children!)

Unite all in Love for God is Love!

Let us ask God to direct us as we lead our children where He wants them to be.
