Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
Read: Psalm 107
Our God is an awesome God! His grace and mercy flow freely many times undeserved. This entire Psalm displays his unconditional love for his people. I do not feel the universe owes me anything. I feel that I owe the universe my best every day. God created the universe and he is my boss. Early in my discussions with God, I would hear him say, “So what are you going to do for me today? Stay close to me and I will guide your thoughts, words, and actions. Stay in the present moment, enjoy peace in my presence.”
Those are comforting words that fall contrary to the culture of today’s world. The evil one thrives on creating chaos and noise. The chaos and noise that I am talking about are that of our electronic devices and materialism (false Gods). Once we learn the discipline to control our electronic devices and ungodly pursuits, we open our mind, body, and spirits to the plethora of gifts that await us in the presence of Jesus. It all comes down to choices. Discipline to do the next right thing. As I grow my divine exchange with Jesus, I look forward to each day and the conversation tends now to be more consensual, “Ok, Jesus, what are we going to do today?” I take great solace in running into the arms of Jesus. I know he welcomes me unconditionally. That gives me great peace.
Like David, we can always let God know what we are going through, what our problems are, and what our needs are. Let us put our trust in God that He will take care of us.
Lift our eyes to God and experience His presence and strength.
Unite all in love for God is love!
