Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
Read Psalm 126:1-6
This weekend, my friends and I went to Guinahoan Lighthouse in Caramoan, Camarines Sur, Philippines, one of the best attractions worth traveling for in the place. It is a remote island located in one of the 100 islands of Caramoan. The place does not have electricity and they only rely on a scheduled power from a generator. Not all of them have television and most probably they're not familiar with the television shows we see here in the city. If they want to go to a mall, they have to travel for hours by boat and by land. Yet, despite all of this simplicity of life, the people there, especially the kids, are joyful. Almost all of the kids of the town welcomed us with smiles on their faces. They seem happy and grateful for their life. As we leave the island, some of the kids followed us to the boat, repeatedly saying "Ba-bye po, ingat po kayo (goodbye and take care)."
There are a lot of reasons to celebrate life. The world has been full of distractions and deceptions making us believe that simple and ordinary things cannot give us laughter and joy. God longs to restore our soul, heart, and mind. His ears are not deaf whenever we ask Him to "restore our fortunes, as streams renew the desert (v. 4).
You are never forgotten by God. With a joyful heart, thank God because He continues to bring laughter and refreshment to your life. What are the simple things around you that you can thank God for today?
Remember all the things God has done for you.

As Jesus is all and in all, we have been given the mandate to love one another.
Jesus Christ is the game-changer…Jesus, I need you, trust you and love you.
