Lord, do good to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.
Read: Psalm 125
Practice, Practice, Practice. Some things come more natural than others. Before our recent “Fully Alive” Empowerment conference to optimize the health of our mind, body, and spirit, I “learned” the art of folding cloth napkins into a triangular pouch. At first, they would not even stand alone, but with practice I witnessed my artistic ability improve.
Each day we have the opportunity to do “good”. It is a choice. “God has empowered us to make good choices” (Deuteronomy 30:19). God further tells us in 30:16 that if you obey the commandments of the Lord, love him and walk in his ways, you will live and grow numerous. The roadmap is clear.
Repetition is a great way to improve. As children, we learned many prayers by repeating them daily at home and at church. My favorite prayer is the Lord’s Prayer. It is an invitation for us to talk with God, acknowledge his power, grace, mercy and unconditional love and forgiveness. God expects us to do our part as well. As our God loves and forgives, it is our mandate to do the same.
It may be helpful to start each day with the Lord’s prayer and open up the “divine exchange” with God. God longs for our time and attention. There are no problems too big for our God. So declare today no stress or worries, for people will be people, the job is the job and God is God. So let him handle it!
Each day we have the opportunity to do “good”.
Unite all in love for God is love!
