"...but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name."

John 20:31

What is the last movie you've watched that left you in awe and wonder for several hours or even for days, to the point that you kept on telling your friends and posting on social media that it is a must-watch movie? Growing up, there are a lot of times I get fascinated with fairytales and magical books and movies hoping that those could be true. But have you tried to ask yourself when was the last time you get so amazed with admiration on what is written in the Bible?

As I ponder, I realize that the written word in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation could be even more exciting and amazing than the cosmic and other fiction movies. I believe it is a matter of how much we would desire to understand the Word of God in our hearts. As said in John 20:31, the scriptures are written so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. The Bible is not just a book of history. Jesus is not just a written story. He, the Son of God, was even sent by the Father here on earth to have a real living contact with us, that we may believe.

I pray for a deeper desire to have joy and delight in our hearts as we read God’s Word. That it may not be another day of reading a book of words, but rather a day with excitement on how God would give us a fresh revelation of who He is through His words. May God change our callous hearts and allow us to experience the same feeling of great wonder when we first received Jesus in our lives.

What is hindering us from experiencing wonder with the Word of God? What is distracting us from desiring God more?

May we experience the fullness of life every day as we continue to believe in Him.
