This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes
Read: Psalm 84
Back in my high school days, I was always confident in my academic performance and extra-curricular activities. I had a high self-assurance that my intelligence, skills, and talents are better than others. Then one day, I met the word FAILURE—a word that has never been in my vocabulary. Because of my self-pride, the word failure has been so difficult for me to accept.
We are humans, and it is in our sinful nature to give ourselves all the credits especially in our achievements. Sometimes this is the reason why we do not feel the need of a Saviour. We are becoming overly confident and self-reliant that we can do anything in our own strength, skills, and capabilities. We thought we can do anything until we are getting so tired and frustrated, worse when we experience failures. The reality is, whether how strong, intelligent, skilled, or multi-talented we are, we are limited.
I pray that we will always ask God's grace for us to live in humility and that we will always be reminded who we are compared to our unmeasurable God. Without God, we are nothing (John 15:5). At the end of the day, may we be like David who is filled with thanksgiving. May we lift everything to God and bring back all the Glory to him because everything is His doing and all He does is good (Psalm 118:23).
We are nothing without God.
