MARCH 25, 2018
...remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
Read: Ephesians 2
Familiarity is one of the things that could hinder the excitement and the fire in a believer's spiritual journey. After several years of constantly reading the Bible, listening to different preachings, and aiming for spiritual growth, sometimes we get too familiar with His Word. How do we overcome this season? Just one thing, REMEMBER.
With all the things we are doing in our lives, we get too preoccupied. It is then easy to forget what God has done. We easily forget how good the Good news of the Gospel was.
Let's pause and take some time to remember. To remember our life when we were separated from Christ, to remember the time when we were excluded from citizenship of God, to remember the days when we don't know where to find hope, and to remember when there was no God in our life. Let us remember that at one time in the past, we are without hope and God. And now, through Jesus Christ's blood, we are brought near to God, we are now citizens in God's Kingdom, we are now God's family members, and we are now built in the same cornerstone in Christ's temple (Ephesians 2:19-21).
The less we remember, the less we treasure the life that we have now in Christ. Remembering our life without God and our life in Christ will help us to be humble and grateful. We will not have a new life and a new heart without Jesus Christ.
