A Salty Discussion

Daily Devotion

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Colossians 4:6
Read Colossians 4:2-6

Paul used the term “seasoned with salt” as a metaphor pertaining to how we should live with those who do not know Jesus yet. It is also said in Matthew 5:13 in which Jesus said to the disciples, "You are the salt of the earth.” Salt is beneficial as a preservative, a seasoning, and a lot of other ways. God changes us through his grace. As God continues His work in us, He is calling us to influence the world for good.

Every new breath we receive each morning is another opportunity for us to give powerful and engaging testimony to those who are “not yet believers” of the Gospel. Do we represent God well with the words we speak and the way we act? Are we making the most of every opportunity to show love and be love to others?

We cannot do things on our own. We cannot show love without the love of God in us. Let us start with prayer, fully depending on the power of the Holy Spirit to help us be the salt of the earth.

Be love for you are loved!
